Twice a year, VCCA hosts neighbors, friends, and supporters for a Saturday morning of light yard work and gardening to help keep the grounds of Mt. San Angelo, home to our world-renowned artist residency program, looking beautiful. Artists in residence often pause their studio work to join in volunteer activities. VCCA provides water, coffee, a light lunch, a gorgeous view, and good company!
Up Next: 2023 Fall Volunteer Day
VCCA’s next Volunteer Day will be held on a Saturday in October. Exact date TBA. Check back soon.
Volunteer Details
What You Need: Please bring gardening gloves, pruning shears, and rakes if you have them. Consider a jacket/poncho, hat, sunscreen, water bottle, etc. — whatever will keep you comfortable outdoors! Bottled water will be available.
COVID-19 Protocol: To help keep our artist community safe, VCCA requires all visitors be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with an updated booster. Volunteer Day activities will take place outdoors, but please be aware that masks may be required indoors.
Where to Go: Please park in the Fellows Parking Lot and head to the patio of the Fellows Residence to check in and help yourself to a cup of coffee before we begin. Download a map of the grounds to help you find your way around!
In Case of Rain: If there’s a need to reschedule due to weather, we will email pre-registered volunteers by 8:30 a.m. on the day of the event to let you know. If you don’t hear from us, we’ll proceed with the day as planned.
