Joy Peterson Heyrman
Joy Peterson Heyrman became executive director of the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts (VCCA) in 2016, after 23 years with the Walters Art Museum in Baltimore, Maryland. She holds an M.A. and a Ph.D. in Art History and Archeology from the University of Maryland and a B.A. in English from Amherst College.

Sheila Gulley Pleasants has served VCCA since 1989 when she moved from New York City to Mt. San Angelo to become residential staff with her husband Craig. She holds an M.A. in French from New York University, an M.Ed. in English from Converse College, and a B.A. in French from Wake Forest University.
