The VCCA Fireplace Series was created as a virtual alternative to the sharing of work that traditionally takes place among VCCA Fellows after dinner in front of the fireplace at Mt. San Angelo. Launched in the early days of the Covid-19 pandemic, this live event series offered a way to keep the spirit of artistic camaraderie and interdisciplinary exchange alive and well. Guests gathered virtually on Facebook and YouTube to enjoy work by writers, visual artists, and composers, starting with those whose book launches, gallery openings, performances, etc., had been affected by pandemic-related cancellations and closures. Each live stream event was hosted by a member of the VCCA Fellows Council or Board of Directors who facilitated conversation and live questions from viewers.
