Dear VCCA Fellows and Friends,

Our beautiful residences in Virginia and France are closed for now, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Since we first announced a temporary closure, the world around us has changed dramatically. While we originally planned to reopen Mt. San Angelo by May 1 and Moulin à Nef by June 1, we’re taking steps to prepare for a longer pause in the rhythms of our residency programs.

To that end, we are temporarily closing applications for residencies and fully-funded fellowships. We will reopen applications and begin welcoming Fellows back to Mt. San Angelo and Moulin à Nef when we trust it is responsible to do so.

In the meantime, VCCA will be hard at work (remotely and at careful social distance). There are many projects around the grounds and buildings at Mt. San Angelo and the Moulin à Nef that will benefit from our undivided attention. Fellows can expect to see much needed updates and improvements when they return.

In times of crisis, the importance of art and the creative work that VCCA has supported for almost fifty years becomes clear as people turn to music, literature, and art. That work sustains us, and we will continue to foster our community of Fellows and supporters. We are together in this. And we look forward to the moment when we can be together in person.

Until that time, we’re committed to finding new ways to support artists and nurture creative fellowship in online spaces. Watch your inbox and VCCA social media channels for news on that front.

We know many of you will have specific questions. We do our best to address common ones at the link below.
