About the Fellowship
Established in 2013 by VCCA Fellow Mary D. Edwards in honor of her parents Sarah Stanley Gordon Edwards and Archibald Cason Edwards Senior, this fully-funded, two-week fellowship aims to support female-identifying visual artists, with strong preference given to Native Americans. All Native American visual artists are encouraged to apply.
The VCCA residency at Mt. San Angelo includes a private bedroom with private bath, a separate individual studio, and meals in a community of cross-disciplinary artists.

About Sarah Stanley Gordon Edwards and Archibald Cason Edwards Senior
Sarah Stanley Gordon Edwards was a professor of biology at the University of Central Oklahoma. Archibald Cason Edwards Senior, a Greek and Latin Major at Harvard, was a businessman who published stories in Prairie Schooner.
