The Moulin à Nef studios are located in the medieval village of Auvillar's port area, right on bank of the Garonne River. A downstairs sculpture studio was created as a working ceramics facility. It is approximately 25x35 feet with high ceilings, a settlement sink, and access to the cement courtyard with a slop sink in the back. There are two kilns and multiple kick-wheels.
Two of the upstairs studios are about 15x18 with desks, office chairs, rugs and lamps. They work well for writers or visual artists. The central upstairs studio is a cube: 16x16x16. The 16-foot ceiling has state-of-the-art halogen lighting. The building is equipped with two bathrooms and connects to a charming outdoor courtyard.
VCCA Fellow Cheryl Fortier is on site as VCCA-France's resident director, living in La Cloucado.
Auvillar may be accessed by the airport at Toulouse (about 90 km to the east) or the train station at Valence d'Agen (about 5 km away).
