Fondazzjoni Kreattività - Spazju Kreattiv, St. James Cavalier, Valletta , Malta
A six-week residency on the Mediterranean island of Malta. VCCA Fellows are provided a combined studio and living space in downtown Valetta, close to the St. James Cavalier Centre, a restored 16th century fort redesigned as a contemporary art complex of galleries, theaters, music halls, and cafés in the capital city. The Centre has welcomed both local and foreign artists, writers, singers, and actors, dancers and musicians, as well as thinkers, scientists, and other creators. It has staged operas, premiered plays, and held major exhibitions of contemporary pieces as well as work by past masters. Fellows need to be prepared to work in their living space while protecting it with drop cloths. One meal a day is provided at the St. James restaurant/cafeteria and there is a stipend of 12 € per day for food. This residency offers the solitude for concentrated work and time for self-directed exploration of this extraordinary island.
