Jeffrey N. Johnson’s first novel, The Hunger Artist, was released in 2014 and was a finalist for the Library of Virginia's People's Choice Award. His stories have appeared in The Sewanee Review (awarded the Andrew Nelson Lytle Fiction Prize for best short story published in 2011), REAL: Regarding Arts and Letters, Lake Effect, Clackamas Literary Review, The Connecticut Review, Wisconsin Review, North Atlantic Review, The Evansville Review, Night Train, The Distillery, South Dakota Review, The Summerset Review, Licking River Review, Potomac Review, and Aethlon: The Journal of Sport Literature. His short story collection “Home and Abroad” was a 2008 semi-finalist for The St Lawrence Book Award, sponsored by the Black Lawrence Press. His poems have appeared in Red Rock Review, Dos Passos Review, Roanoke Review, South Carolina Review, Coe Review and Gargoyle. He’s also a recipient of a “creative fellow” grant from the Mid-Atlantic Arts Foundation and a fellowship from the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts.
