Biography: 

Eleanor Aversa is a Benjamin Franklin Fellow in Composition at the University of Pennsylvania. Her compositions have been played at new music festivals at Symphony Space, June in Buffalo, and Tanglewood. She is the winner of the 2010 David Halstead Prize (U. Penn), the 2009 San Francisco Choral Artists New Voices Prize, and the 2008 Brian M. Israel Prize. She has twice been commissioned by choreographer Danuta Petrow-Sek, supported in part by a grant from the Queens Council on the Arts. Ms. Aversa holds an M.A. in composition from Queens College CUNY, where she studied with Bruce Saylor, and a B.A. in Russian Language and Literature from Princeton.
