Carlos Aquilino lives and works in Madrid-Spain, the city of his birth. He has built his own personality, shaped by crosscultural experiences that have taken him from artists residencies at the Spanish Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, Italy, to the Creative Arts Center of Virginia, from the New Mexico desert at the Helen Wurlitzer Foundation to the Romanian Carpathians, from the Hungarian Plane to Point B Worklodge in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York. He won the painting prize of the City of Madrid, Spain, and the Gran Medal of Sculpture at the Anzio International Art Competition in Rome, Italy. Works of his works are found in private collections and museums in Spain, USA, Romania, Hungary, Italy, Germany, France, Austria, Turkey, Japan and China.
