"Residency at Moulin à Nef could not have been a greater gift to my creative life...The special character of Auvillar and support of VCCA heightened for me the thrill of discovery... The sights alone gave me a lifetime of imagery and memories."   - VCCA-France Fellow Meredith Fife Day

VCCA currently offers exchange programs with five international arts organizations and is open to all writers, visual artists, and composers who previously have been in residence at VCCA. Participating Fellows are responsible for their own transportation arrangements and costs.

Moulin à Nef

Our flagship international program is housed in a beautifully renovated 17th-century facility in the south of France. At the Moulin à Nef, we host four artists at a time, approximately 20 artists each year for residential fellowships in the medieval village of Auvillar in Gascony.

Since 2009, VCCA has partnered with ECCE, the East Coast Contemporary Ensemble, to create Etchings, a contemporary music festival in Auvillar.

A series of workshops is also offered each year, and the property is available for rental.
