Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation Creative Fellowships

Through its Creative Fellowships Program, the Mid-Atlantic Arts Foundation supports a fully funded one month residency for up to five artists each year from five of the mid-Atlantic states and the U.S. Virginia Islands. Currently, eligibility is for an artist from each of Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, West Virginia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Artists wishing to be considered for a Mid-Atlantic Fellowship should apply directly to the VCCA at the January 15 deadline. The VCCA makes selections and then the MAAF provides funding for the residency, as well as a $250 travel subsidy.

My residency at VCCA was a profound and transformative experience for me, It's sad to say that my usual life is not very conducive to writing. The time and space at VCCA were an amazing luxury.
—Moira Egan, poet, Baltimore

Artists interested in applying for a Mid-Atlantic Fellowship should download a regular application here or from the apply page.
