SPECIAL PROGRAMS: Regional Initiatives

Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation supporting New Jersey artists

Each year since 1997, the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation has supported residential Fellowships for New Jersey artists, writers, and composers at the VCCA. Our longest-running regional initiative, the Dodge Fellowships have returned an amazing wealth of cultural production to the people of the Garden State.

Approximately fifteen artists per year are granted fully funded residencies at Mt San Angelo. Any artist applying from New Jersey is automatically considered for a Dodge Fellowship.   Currently, eligibility is limited to those who have received three or fewer residencies supported by the Dodge Foundation over the previous five years.

VCCA is magical for me, it has been a truly fantastic experience. The location, the residence, the studio, the staff, the quiet, the beautiful mountains, the other fellows, all combined to make my stay very memorable and productive. —Maria Mazziotti Gillian, poet, Paterson

Artists interested in applying for a Dodge Fellowship should download a regular application here or from the apply page.
